Goju-no-to

Goju-no-to, five story pagoda, is 27.6 meters tall and is on the eastern side of the Itsukushima Shrine. The pagoda was said to be built in 1407 and stands next to the Senjokaku, which means the hall off 1,000 tatami mats. The architecture is a beautiful mix of Japanese and Chinese. The warped cypress-bark roofing being Chinese while the wooden door entrance Japanese.
